The Morning He Left
A work of fiction. The characters and events are invented; any resemblance to real people is coincidental.
On the morning of her due date, forty weeks pregnant and barefoot in the hallway, Madison watches her husband roll his suitcase past her packed hospital bag and leave for a family weekend in Scottsdale. Ethan is certain the worst thing he's leaving behind is an angry wife. But when he finally comes home, he discovers that something far more important is missing. What did Madison do while he was gone?
